Spix's Macaw

Known for its dazzling blue feathers and heartbreaking story, the Spix’s Macaw is a Brazilian parrot species once believed extinct in the wild. Habitat destruction and the illegal pet trade decimated their numbers, and by the early 2000s, they had vanished from their natural home. Thanks to tireless conservation work and breeding programs, Spix’s Macaws are now being reintroduced into the wild, making them a rare symbol of hope in the world of endangered species.
