Saharan Cheetah Sweatshirt

The Saharan Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus hecki), known for being the fastest land animals, are facing a precarious future, with their population in decline due to various threats. Currently listed as vulnerable, cheetahs are estimated to number less than 7,000 individuals left in the wild, primarily found in sub-Saharan Africa. The Saharan (or Northwest African) Cheetah in particular has less than 450! The main factors driving their endangered status include habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and poaching. As human populations expand, cheetahs' natural habitats are increasingly being converted for agriculture and urbanization, forcing them into smaller and fragmented areas. Cheetahs are also often victims of human-wildlife conflict, as they sometimes prey on livestock, leading to retaliatory killings by farmers. They are also prone to having anxiety when kept in captivity as they are solitary animals in the wild.
